How’d we do?
Okay, first I have to apologize, because I didn’t get any good photos from the Bacon Championship. But we did awesome! Yeet the Myskeet took a 5th place walk! Jess & Lauren killed it with a ‘5 Cheese Bacon Mac with Bacon Jam’ recipe they created for the event.
5th place walk in The Bacon Championship!!!
How does The Bacon Championship work?
The Bacon Championship is a people’s choice competition. Basically the way it worked in Albany in 2020 is that you collect purple tokens which are collected at the end of the day and counted. Whichever team has collected the most purple tokens wins the event.
Sunday – The KCBS Contest
So, how’d we do?
Considering how new our team is and how much we have learned from this competition, I think we did awesome!! We didn’t walk last in any of the four meats, which for me is a first to be honest. I am so very proud of our team and how we did in Albany!
- Chicken – 12th of 16
- Pork Ribs – 14th of 16
- Pork – 13th of 16
- Brisket – 8th of 16
Chicken thighs
Chicken thighs went really well. They were perfectly shaped and the skins were nice. We had some really good competition though.
Pork Ribs
Pork Ribs went really well too. I think the ribs were cooked well and had really good and popping flavor. Awesome job!!
Pork Butt
The Pork Butt was smoked well and had good flavor. Loren went for a low and slow cook and it paid off with a nice and juicy Pork Butt.
Beef Brisket
Brisket turned out pretty good! I didn’t get many pictures of it because I was cooking it so my hands were dirty for a good part of it haha. Flavor and tenderness were good!
