Portland Local BBQ, Grilling, & Outdoor Cooking Competitions
Hi Grillers,
I wanted to compile a list of BBQ & Outdoor Cooking competitions in Portland, OR and the surrounding area. So, I did! And here it is. I basically go around the internet searching for competitions within ~200 miles of Portland and add them to this calendar. I use details from the event hosts and add whatever else I can find about the events.

Why did I make a PDX Local BBQ Comp Calendar?
Well, I compete out of the Portland/Vancouver area so I wanted to make this calendar to track competitions in my immediate area. That’s right, if you’re looking at going to an event on this calendar we might just meet at the contest! Anyways, hopefully you all find it as helpful as I do.
What kind of outdoor cooking contests are included?
For now the calendar includes events sanctioned or hosted by various sanctioning bodies (KCBS, PNWBA, SCA, IDOS) but with a strong focus on KCBS & PNWBA events. I haven’t yet included any unsanctioned events but that may change with time. Reach out to me if you’ve got an event in the area to add or if you know of a contest I’ve missed.
When is this calendar updated?
Fairly regularly. I’m hesitant to put a timeline to it because I just started making the calendar. I’ll update it as I look for more events to compete in and will figure out a more defined sequence down the road.
Where is ‘PDX Local’ for purposes of this calendar?
I focus on BBQ and grilling competitions in a ~200 mile range of Portland, Oregon. Sometimes I go a bit above 200 miles when I see fit but I’m sure you all understand (e.g. PDX to Pasco, WA is 217 miles).
How should I use this BBQ competition calendar?
Use it to find events that fit into your own calendar! Then you can come out, have a blast, and eat great food. Also, share it with your friends/family/cooking team/etc. so that you can find events to attend together.
